Can Windows Game Bar record whole screen?

“It’s really simple to record videos on PC in Windows 10 with Xbox Game Bar. However, it seems that I can only record a specific app window and when I try to record the entire desktop, it fails to work. Can Windows Game Bar record the whole screen?”

Xbox Game Bar, the built-in screen recorder on Windows 10 or later, only works to record the currently active app window on your computer. Therefore, unless you maxmize the app window, it won’t record the whole screen on Windows 10. Besides, Xbox Game Bar doesn’t support recording the desktop, File Explorer, or any other UWP applications on your computer.
