“I want to record a Microsoft Teams meeting but I’m just a guest attendant and there is no record option available. Can I record a Teams meeting when I’m not the host?”
Yes, you can record Teams meetings even if you are a guest. Although Microsoft Teams only provides its Record feature for the meeting organizer or person from the same organization as the host, there are third-party screen recording tools that allow you to record on Teams as a guest, such as SurFlex Online Free Screen Recorder and OBS Studio. Both are completely free tools to use. Since SurFlex is web-based, it’s advisable to apply this tool to free yourself from software installations.
To record a Teams meeting as a guest:
- Open a browser and head to SurFlex Online Free Screen Recorder.
- Select Screen and System Sound and click Start Recording.
- Choose to record the Teams tab or the entire screen.
- Click Share to start the Teams recording.
An online screen recorder is simple to use but doesn’t have as many features as a desktop tool. If you want more screen recording options, using desktop video recording software like OBS Studio or SurFlex Screen Recorder is more suitable.
