“Does Windows 11 have a screen recorder? I want to record gameplay on PC for sharing and it runs Windows 11. Is there any built-in tool for recording videos on Windows 11?”
Windows 11 offers two built-in screen recorder tools: Game Bar and Snipping Tool. Game Bar helps to record a specific window with audio, including game audio, microphone sound, and more. Snipping Tool works to record a selected portion of the screen without audio.
To screen record on Windows 11 with Game Bar, press Windows + Alt + R to start or stop recording.
To record a video on Windows 11 with Snipping Tool, press Windows + Shift + S to open the app window and then start a recording.
After the recording, you can go to Videos > Captures to check the recorded videos.
If you need to screen record on Windows 11 with audio, using Game Bar is a better choice. However, it also provides limited functionality: it can’t record the entire screen, File Explorer, or other UWP apps. If you want to freely record videos on Windows 11, it’s necessary to apply a third-party tool, such as SurFlex Screen Recorder. It works to record the entire screen or any selected portion/window with audio, including system sound, microphone audio, or both.
