Why can’t I hear my voice in Xbox clips?

If you can't hear your voice in Xbox clips, that is probably because you do not select the right audio option in Xbox Game Bar settings.

“I made lots of game clips using Xbox Game Bar, but there is no sound in the recordings. Why can’t I hear my voice in Xbox clips?”

If you can’t hear your voice in Xbox clips, it’s probably because you didn’t select the proper audio recording option. To make sure you can record clips on PC or laptop with microphone sound, you can follow these settings:

Go to Settings > Gaming > Captures to toggle on Record Audio and enable the Turn mic on by default when I record option.

Head to Xbox Game Bar > Settings > Widgets to select Game (game + enabled mic) or All (game, enabled mic, apps, system) as the audio recording option.

If you are sure you have set up the audio recording option correctly and there is still no voice in your Xbox clips, you’d better check your microphone connection or microphone to see whether it works.

If Xbox Game Bar still can’t record game clips with audio, you can use a third-party screen recording tool, such as SurFlex Screen Recorder, to have a try. During a screen recording, it will capture system sound, microphone audio, or both, depending on your settings.
