“I want to record a game clip on my computer using the built-in Xbox Game Bar. Is there any convenient way to open Xbox Game Bar so that I can easily record a video on my PC?”
The easiest way to open Xbox Game Bar is by pressing the Windows key + G. No matter whether you are using a PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can use the Windows screen recorder shortcut to open Xbox Game Bar. Alternatively, you can open Xbox overlay by going to the Search Bar on Windows, typing in Game Bar, and then clicking Game Bar to open it.
When you need to record videos using Xbox Game Bar, there are also screen recording shortcuts for you:
Windows key + Alt + R: record the currently active window.
Windows key + Alt + G: record the last 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or more, depending on your settings.
As for the storage folder, you can go to Videos > Captures to find the screen recordings easily.
It’s worth noting that Xbox Game Bar only works to record the currently active app window by default. More specifically, you can’t record the desktop, File Explorer, or any other UWP apps using this tool. That’s why you may need a third-party video recorder, such as SurFlex Screen Recorder, to capture the content you need. With such a helpful screen recording app, you will be able to record any video or audio you like.
